"YNX Releases The Sea Turtles"
SAMAE-SAN ISLAND, Chonburi Province, Thailand, 23 February 2019

Due to over-fishing, and consequences from pollution, Sea Turtles are endangered. Sea Turtle eggs are routinely caught in fishing nets and harvested for human consumption. Mature Sea Turtles often suffer an early demise from ingesting plastic waste, which abounds in the sea. Samae-San Island is a small island in Sattahip District, Chonburi Province. The island is under the control of the Naval Special Warfare Command (SEAL), Royal Thai Fleet as part of an initiative that was launched by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. This initiative led to the establishment of the Siam Marine Rehabilitation Foundation. Students and the general public are welcome to visit learn about the lives of sea turtles.

On Saturday, February 23, Yannix Volunteers, as part of the Give It 2 Get It Program, will do their part by releasing twenty-four Hawksbill Sea Turtles back into nature. Earlier in the day, Yannix Volunteers will visit the Thai Way of Organic Farming Learning Center (SEAL Farm) to learn about the concept of a “sufficiency economy,” a Thai development approach that espouses a balanced approach to living. The philosophy is attributed to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The SEAL staff will show volunteers how to plant vegetables, raise ducks, and mill rice.

NAKHON RATCHASIMA PROVINCE, Thailand, 19 January 2019

Saturday, January 19, marked the first Give It 2 Get It event of 2019 (G2G#23).

Volunteers made artificial salt licks to provide essential mineral supplementation for the wildlife in the area.

Yannix thanks our hosts for the day: Mr. Ticha Laohaboot (Head of Moosi Silvicultural Research Station), and Miss Kemika Konthongmat (Coordinator) for their time and efforts to educate our volunteers regarding the wildlife and plant life in the region and the work that Moosi Silvicultural Research Station does on a daily basis.

Give it 2 Get it #22

BANGKOK, Thailand, 22 December 2018

On Saturday, December 22, the Happy Dolls Project will come to the offices of Yannix (Thailand) Co. Ltd., for the final Give It 2 Get It event of 2018. According to the Happy Dolls Project website: “The Happy Dolls Project was created to make people feel ‘happy’ as we know that a smile is a simple but effective way to make people feel better instantly! :)”

The wonderful people at the Happy Dolls Project “believe that no matter what your age, situation, background or culture, everyone can benefit from a special friend who, with a little imagination, can love and care for you perhaps when you need it most.”

“This project aims to assist children in rural places, living in underprivileged hill tribe communities in the North of Thailand and migrant camps in the South receive a better education as well as disadvantaged Thai children such as orphans, street kids, children with disabilities or long term health problems who could use a friend and a reassuring smile from one of these very special dolls. The idea is that they receive one of these Happy dolls, feel less alone and find their smile again :)”

On Saturday the 22nd, representatives of the Happy Dolls Project will demonstrate to Yannix Volunteers how to make “Happy Dolls” by hand. Yannix Volunteers will then make “Happy Dolls” to be distributed to children who could use a friend (orphans, children with disabilities, street kids, and children with long-term health problems).

RATCHABURI PROVINCE, Thailand, 11 November 2018

This Event was organized by Yannix in cooperation with Kor Kon Pan Din. Ban Nong Ko School is a small facility in a remote village in Ratchaburi Province. The students at the school come from low-income families living in the region, and unfortunately, the school lacks resources.

On Sunday, November 11, Volunteers visited the school where they received a warm welcome from Mr. Suriwong Klintaworn, (Project Manager, Kor Kon Pan Din), and Mrs. Kanokporn Eamsuwarn, (Director of Ban Nong Ko School). Volunteers toured the facility and assisted in making some general repairs while also interacting with the children for fun and games.
