BANGKOK, Thailand
YNX: Bo, please tell us about your life before joined Yannix.
Bo: I was born and raised in Bangkok, which makes me a lifelong Bangkokian.
I’ve lived in the Bangpakok area in the south of Bangkok my whole life. I live with my parents in the same house I’ve lived in ever since I was born. I’m the elder child in the family, and I have a younger brother.
I’ve always been good with numbers. At school, my favorite subject was Mathematics. In Math, the teacher would challenge the class to see who could do the fastest calculation. For me, it was like a game that I really enjoyed winning. I loved that I was very good at it. The competition was my favorite part of the class.
YNX: What made you want to join Yannix?
Bo: I first interviewed with Yannix in April 2009 and I joined the company in June 2009, so I’ve been at Yannix for 12 years. Back when I first started, I was seeking a challenging position where I could learn to do more than just accounting.
When I was first hired, I was the Executive Assistant’s assistant. At that time, Yannix was looking for an assistant with an accounting background, and I fit that role.
Yannix was a much smaller company back then, so I was afforded lots of opportunities to interact with the various departments within Yannix. So, over the years, I’ve learned quite a lot.
YNX: What is your current role at Yannix?
Bo: I’m an Accounting Team Lead. I oversee all of the tasks in Finance & Accounting related to Accounts Payable, Company Expenses, Income Forecasting, Income Taxes, and Miscellaneous Finance.
YNX: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Bo: When I was a child, I dreamed of owning a restaurant. My Mom is such a wonderful cook, and I hoped that someday I would open a restaurant and share her recipes with the public. My Mom still prepares a lunch box for me every day, and I enjoy sharing my scrumptious lunch items with my Yannix colleagues around my workspace.
However, working at Yannix has fulfilled my career ambitions. I’m fortunate to work in a friendly environment in harmony with my peers. I’m happy to be working in a position that I was educated and trained to do.
YNX: What are your hobbies or passions outside of Yannix?
Bo: Ever since I was a child, I’ve always enjoyed watching Doraemon. Doraemon is an animated Japanese movie featuring a blue robot cat who always helps his best mate, a young boy named Nobita.
Doraemon has lots of magical and fancy gadgets he uses to help Nobita.
Doraemon is my favorite.
When I’m not working, I love to travel. I love going to the beach. I love spending time with my friends and family, and I also really enjoy watching movies.
I’ve never enjoyed participating in sports too much, however, I consider myself to be a fan of Thailand’s Women’s Volleyball Team, and I would love to attend their matches when I have a chance to go.
I also collect tumblers from my favorite movies. I think I have more than 100 collectible drinking glasses. Most of them feature superheroes from DC, Marvel, Jurassic World, Fast & Furious, Transformers, and more….
YNX: Speaking of superheroes, who are your heroes, and why?
Bo: While I enjoy watching superhero movies, I don’t really have a personal hero, at least there’s no particular hero I would want to be. I enjoy being myself, so I don’t really think about being anybody else. I consider myself to be an ordinary person who has a unique and extraordinary perspective.
YNX: Okay, so you don’t want to be a superhero, but what if you could have a superpower?
Bo: Well, I do like Ironman. I must admit that I’m a fan of Tony Stark. I love his genius. It would be great if I could invent lots of gadgets to create a more comfortable lifestyle for myself. I really like gadgets.
Truthfully, I guess I wish I could have J.A.R.V.I.S. (Just A Rather Very Intelligent System) in my life. I think that would be great!
YNX: Thank you Bo for taking the time to answer our questions.
