BANGKOK, Thailand, 8 January 2021

Thailand currently ranks 130th in the World as a recent spike of COVID-19 cases has hit the Kingdom.

According to Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration there have been a total of 9,636 Coronavirus cases in the Kingdom, to date.

The number of COVID-19 deaths in Thailand has risen to a total of 67 in recent weeks. The Kingdom has registered seven (7) new Coronavirus fatalities after not having recorded a single COVID-related death in almost eleven (11) months, (since January 30, 2020).

Globally, the United States continues to have the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the World (21.85 million). India ranks #2 (10.39 million), and Brasil ranks #3 (7.87 million). Russia is ranked #4 (3.3 million) and a recent spike of cases in the U.K. has Great Britain joining Top 5 with 2.83 million cases.

Worldwide, the number of confirmed cases is 87.64 million. The total number of confirmed Coronavirus deaths worldwide has risen to 1.89 million.
